- February 15, 2005 (Tuesday) 6:30 pm: Regular Meeting at Maria's Family Restaurant, 81-83 Essex Street,
Haverhill, MA. Guest speaker Author Kevin Noa, author the
book "Two Princesses: The Triumphs and Trials of Grace
Kelly and Diana Spencer". We will be having a Red-on-Red Night. Red-on-Red gifts should be in
the $10 to $15 range. Members' guests are invited to attend.

- Meeting Highlights:
- Author Kevin Noa, "Two
Princesses: The Triumphs and Trials of Grace Kelly and Diana
Spencer", spoke about the his book that discusses the similarities
and differences that abound between these two breathtaking princesses
who captivated the world in the 2nd half of the 20th century.
- Lions Eric Powell and Ken Parker,
Jr., Co-Chairs for the Super Bowl Raffle, gave a final report.
- Winners were as follows:
- 1st Quarter: District 33N VDG
David Clement
- 2nd Quarter: PDG Ted Irvin
- 3rd Quarter: Debbie of Jackson
Lumber
- Final: Kathy Parker
- The raffle raise $500.00 for
Club charities.
- Special thanks were given to
all Club Members. Lions, family members, friends and co-workers
who sold and bought tickets.
- IPP Jane Sweeney gave a update
on the comedy night that will be in the Spring 2005. Date will
be April 8, 2005 at Pat's Beef House, Haverhill, at 7:00 pm.
IPP Jane indicated that East Coast Marketing, the firm representing
the Haverhill Lions Club, has begun their marketing campaign.
- Lion Dan Hickey was auctioneer
for the Club's Red-On-Red Night. Lion Dan did an awesome job
and good fun and cheer was had by all. The Club raised approximately
$210.00 for Club charities. Special thanks to all Club Members,
family members and friends who participated.
- Haverhill Lions President John
Pettis, Jr. presented an offer to exchange guest speaking appearances
by Mary Noyes of the Blind Guild of Haverhill. President Pettis
and Eyeglass Chairperson Doug Fowler volunteered to participate.
No dates have been set.
- Lion Dan Hickey will look into
the current effort by the City of Haverhill services clubs to
repair the current Haverhill "Welcome Signs".
- Lion Gary Albanese held a discussion
on naming our Club Bulletin. The name "Haverhill's Pride"
was voted as the official name.
Haverhill Lions President/PDG John Pettis, Jr. reminded all Members
to start "thinking" about nominations for next year's
officers. He has asked that all Past Presidents consider "stepping-up-to-plate"
in either an officer's or director's leadership role for next
year.
- Director Eric Powell indicated
he will look into how the Club can participate in the new Elk
Statue being constructed at Winnekenni Park in Haverhill near
Kenoza Lake.
- Haverhill Lions President/PDG
John Pettis, Jr. reminded all Club Members that the 3rd Distinct
Advisory will be on Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at the Wyndham Hotel,
Andover, MA. Haverhill Lions Club Secretary Diane McCorry asked
that all Members let her know if they will be attending. You

John Pettis, Jr. reminded all Members that the District 33N Journey
For Sight Walkathon will be on Sunday, April 24, 2005. For more

- Lion Gary Albanese announced
that the Tewksbury Lions Club will be holding a 50's Dance on
Saturday, February 19, 2005 at the U.S. Bunting & Cricket
Club, Lowell, MA. Start time is 8:00 pm and the cost is just

- Secretary Diane McCorry announced
that she has reserved Saturday, June 4, 2005, for our Annual
Street Collection Day with the City of Haverhill.
- Lion Gary Albanese presented
monies for charities collected from customers at the Haverhill
Beef Company. Thank you Haverhill Beef customers!
