(Tuesday) 6:30 pm:
Regular Meeting at Maria's Family Restaurant, 81-83 Essex Street, Haverhill, MA. Guest speaker Dr. Nancy Sosnowski, Ed.D. from The Center for International Education (CIE) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

  • Meeting Highlights:
    • Dr. Nancy Sosnowski, Ed.D. spoke about her travels to Thailand where she was a volunteer at the Immigration Detention Center in Bangkok.
      • Dr. Sosnowski was invited to speak at our Club by Haverhill Past President Jane Sweeney.
    • Lion Dan Hickey is working with the Haverhill High School Band to determine if they have any band members that may be interested in the All State Band.
    • VP Linda Lynch is is "almost" ready to send out our 1st lot of cell phones for the Donate A Phone Program.
    • PDG Frank Potter is investigating the methods and procedures for a potential hearing aid program.
    • Haverhill Lions President John Pettis, Jr. read a "thank-you" message from the Haverhill High School Junior Class for allowing them to use the Club's "Lion Costume" with their 2004 Homecoming Parade Float.
    • Lion Morris Piccolo presented monies for charities collected from the customers at Perk City in Bradford, MA. Thank you!
    • Lion Gary Albanese presented monies for charities collected from the customers at the Haverhill Beef Company. Thank you!
    • 2nd District Advisory information was provided.
    • Nickis Opportunities information was provided.
    • 2nd Distinct Advisory information was provided.
    • Holiday Party information was discussed.
