Regular Meeting at Maria's Family Restaurant, 81-83 Essex Street, Haverhill, MA. Guest speaker Dr. Paul J Fowler, D.C., Doctor of Chiropractic, Fowler Chiropractic Office, Amesbury, MA.

  • December 7, 2004 Meeting Highlights:
    • Dr. Paul Fowler, D.C. spoke about the healthy heart and some of the ways a person can reduce their risk factors towards cardiovascular heart disease. Dr. Fowler gave examples of prevention techniques.
      • Dr. Fowler was invited to speak at our Club by Haverhill Eyeglass Chairperson Douglas Fowler.

    • Haverhill Lions President/PDG John Pettis, Jr. provided information about the upcoming District 33N Mid Winter Convention information. The Mid Winter Ad Book was discussed (content, advertisement size, etc.) and it was it was determined that those details would be decided at the December 14, 2004 Board of Directors Meeting.
    • Haverhill Lions President/PDG John Pettis, Jr. announced that Haverhill Lion Gary Albanese has assumed the role of Club Bulletin Editor as of December 1, 2004.
    • Haverhill Lions President/PDG John Pettis, Jr. announced that if any member needed State Convention information to see him.
    • Eye Glass Chairperson Doug Fowler announced that he is doing a preliminary investigation into a Braille Reader request made by the Haverhill Public School System.
    • Lion Dan Hickey reported that fun and good holiday cheer was had by all who attended the viewing of the November 21, 2004 Haverhill Santa Parade from Lion Ken Parker, Jr's home in Bradford. Lion Dan Hickey, Jr. said, "It was a lovely day!" - Special thanks to Lion Ken Parker, Jr. and Cathy for hosting the event.
    • IPP Jane Sweeney discussed plans for the upcoming comedy night in the Spring 2005. Potential dates were presented. More information to follow in January 2005.
    • Lion Paul Case presented monies for charities collected from the employees of the LeBaron Bonney Company in Amesbury, MA. Thank you,
    • Haverhill Lions President/PDG John Pettis, Jr. announced that the Guest Speaker for the December 21, 2004 Regular Meeting would be provided by Haverhill Lion John Ryan, III.
    • Haverhill Lions President/PDG John Pettis, Jr. announced that the next Board of Directors Meeting would be on December 14, 2004. IPP Jane Sweeney volunteered to host the meeting and that she would be making her "award winning chili and cornbread". All Club Members are invited to attend.
