Regular Meeting at Maria's Family Restaurant, 81-83 Essex Street, Haverhill, MA. Guest Speaker Val O'Callaghan, Haverhill Lions Club President 1992-1993. Please click here for map and directions to Maria's Family Restaurant. 

  • Meeting Highlights:
    • Val O'Callaghan, Haverhill Lions Club President 1992-1993, spoke about:
      • Retirement life in Florida.
      • Duty and commitment of oneself to your community for the betterment of the community.
      • Getting youth involved and invested in their community at an early age.
      • Val O'Callaghan was invited to speak at our Club by Haverhill Past President Richard Arel.
    • 2005-2006 Haverhill Lions Club President Daniel Hickey, Jr. reminded the Club about the District 33N upcoming event:
    • VP Linda Lynch and IPP Jane Sweeney, Co-Chairpersons for the Club's Annual Street Collection that was held on Saturday, June 4, 2005, gave a report on the event and indicated that it was a success to raise money for the Club's charities. Great Job Lions!
      • Special thanks were expressed to District 33S PDG John Cobb, North Andover Lions Club President Betty Pettis, Kaitlyn McCorry and Robert Johnson for participating with our Club on a very hot and sunny June day.
    • Lion Gary Albanese presented monies for charities collected from customers at Haverhill Beef Company. Thank you Haverhill Beef customers!
    • 2005-2006 Haverhill Lions Club President Daniel Hickey, Jr. announced to the Club the following upcoming Club events:
      • The 2005-2006 Installation of Officers would be on June 21, 2005 at 6:30 pm at Maria's Family Restaurant. Cost is $25.00 per person. Dinner choices are: prime rib of beef, baked haddock or stuffed boneless chicken breast. Please contact Club Secretary Diane McCorry (978) 374-9533 or DianeMc17@comcast.net for more information and/or if you plan on attending.
      • The next Board of Directors Meeting would be on August 8, 2005 at 6:30 pm at Director Eric Powell's home. Dinner will be provided. All Club Members are invited to attend.
      • The Club's Golf Night 2005 is tentatively scheduled for September 13, 2006 (Tuesday). Tee Time: TBD. The event will be at Murphy's Garrison Golf Center, 654 Hilldale Avenue, Haverhill, MA. Tentative Price: $30.00 includes a Golf, Steak Dinner and a Bucket-Of-Balls. Please contact Director Eric Powell at (978) 373-7489 for sign-up or more information.
    • The following "Out-Of State" Guests were in attendance:
      • 1987-1988 President Richard Haynes now a member of the Pompano Beach, Florida Lions Club.
      • 1992-1993 President Val O'Callaghan now retired in Florida.
      • Former Wilmington, Massachusetts Lion Roger Gouldsbrough now a member of the Beverly Hills, Florida Lions Club.
