Thank you - to all Haverhill Lions Club Supporters. 9-year old Nicholas receives his BraileNote BT32 because of your support - December 2004. Background: In 2003, Nicholas was one of the finalists selected to compete in the National Braille Challenge in California and he did very well. (The Haverhill Lions Club help pay for part of Nicholas' hotel expenses.) Unfortunately, Nicholas was finding it hard to continue this progress due to the lack of resources and technology available to him. Needed - Humanware BrailleNote BT32: In September 2004, the Haverhill Lions Club was asked by Nicholas' family to help purchase the Humanware BrailleNote BT32 for him to aid in his progress. The Haverhill Lions Club agreed to take on this project as one of its major fundraising projects for the 2004-2005 year.
Because Of Your Generous Support: The Haverhill Lions Club raised over $4,000.00 towards purchasing the Humanware BrailleNote BT32 by holding a dance fundraiser called It's Salsa Time For "Nick's Opportunities!". The event was held on on Friday, November 5, 2004, at the AMVETS, Post 147, 575 Primrose Street, Haverhill, MA 01830 from 7:00 pm to 12:00 midnight.
District 33N Visual Aids Foundation: Under the guidance and assistance of 2004-2005 District 33N Visual Aids Foundation Treasurer David O'Brien of the Methuen Lions Club, the District 33N Visual Aids Foundation contributed the additional $1,240.00 needed to meet the final cost of $5,240.00 for the Humanware BrailleNote BT32. Thank You Visual Aids Foundation! Nick Received His Humanware BrailleNote BT32: In December 2004, Nicholas received his much needed Humanware BrailleNote BT32. District 33N Visual Aids Foundation
